About the Editor-in-ChiefDeborah Eade has been the Editor of Development in Practice since 1991, shortly after the journal was launched. Before that, she had worked for ten years in Latin America for various local and international NGOs and was, from 1984-91, Oxfam GB's Deputy Regional Representative for Mexico and Central America.
Deborah holds degrees from the universities of Oxford, Sussex, and London and is the author of several works including Capacity Building: An Approach to People-Centred Development (1997), The Oxfam Handbook of Development and Relief (with Suzanne Williams) (1995); and Civil Society and Development: Issues for NGOs (with Ernst Ligteringen) (1999), published by Sophia University in Tokyo. She is also the series editor for the Development in Practice Readers series [click to Kumarian].
Deborah has undertaken consultancies for a range of UN organisations and has been the official Rapporteur for various UNRISD conferences.
