About Deborah Eade

ABOUT DEBORAH EADEImage

Deborah became Editor of Development in Practice in 1991, shortly after its launch. With degrees from the universities of Oxford, Sussex, and London, Deborah worked for ten years in Latin America for various local and international NGOs, and was Oxfam GB's Deputy Regional Representative for Mexico and Central America from 1984 to 1990. Since she and her family moved to Geneva in 1994, Deborah has undertaken consultancies for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the ILO, UNHCR, and WHO as well as Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. She has been the Rapporteur for several UNRISD conferences.

On the rare occasions when she is not in front of her computer screen, Deborah can usually be found either tending her mountainside garden or cross-country skiing.
